calls concerning suicide, substance abuse, physical and emotional abuse, relationship violence, divorce, loneliness, rape, depression, HIV/AIDS, financial difficulties, runaways and other youth issues, emergency shelter, pregnancy, sexual orientation, etc. We work closely with battered women's shelters, counseling centers, rape crisis centers and many other community service providers to ensure that our callers receive the help needed during times of crises.

Trained ACC staff members and volunteers are standing by to answer questions, offer support and provide intervention. The chat is open at arcrisis.org from 4pm to midnight seven days a week.
Crisis Intervention Services
The Arkansas Crisis Center coordinates a registered ICISF team of volunteers who respond within 24 to 48 hours to provide face-to-face crisis intervention services to individuals and groups who have experienced a traumatic event.

ASIST Training
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training [ASIST] is an internationally recognized suicide intervention training program developed by Livingworks, Inc. ASIST is designed to help all caregivers become more willing, ready and able to help persons at risk. Suicide can be pre-vented with the help of prepared caregivers. Just as “CPR” skills make physical first aid possible, training in suicide intervention develops the skills used in suicide first aid.
ASIST is a two-day intensive, interactive and practice-dominated course designed to help caregivers recognize risk and learn how to intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. The workshop is for all caregivers (any person in a position of trust). This includes professionals, paraprofessionals and lay people. It is suitable for mental health professionals, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, teachers, counselors, youth workers, police and correctional staff, school support staff, clergy, and community volunteers.
