Who We Help

Crisis: Anything that overwhelms your normal ability to cope.

At the Arkansas Crisis Center we restore hope, empower people and save lives through suicide awareness and crisis intervention services for those experiencing crises in Arkansas.

In 2008,

  • We were there to listen when over 5,500 Arkansans from over 60 of the 75 counties in our state reached out for help by dialing 1-888-CRISIS-2. Want to know more? Click here for more information.
  • We responded with compassion and strength to provide crisis intervention to schools, police departments and fire stations that experienced extraordinarily stressful events and requested services from our CISM Critical Response Team.
  • Through our partnership with the Arkansas Department of Education and the Governor’s Youth Suicide Prevention Task Force, we travelled the state to provide Gatekeeper Trainings to nearly 500 school faculty, staff, administrators and community leaders. This training enables the trainees to effectively recognize signs of suicide in students and adequately seek help for those at risk.
  • Over 32,000 pieces of promotional materials were distributed to schools, churches, businesses and individuals.
